1ST REREAD REVIEW
infinite stars for the best book I've ever read.

I decided to reread this after I watched the movie and couldn't stop crying over this book.
the characters are all so beautifully manipulative and clever. reading from coriolanus's perspective is so refreshing, for his thoughts are so corrupted and brilliant. he's so evil, but such a genius character. I can't help but love him in this.
lucy gray is amazing. I love her. she's a true survivor. lucy gray really inspires me. she's sweet but will do everything for her survival. I admire that about her. I love her and the covey, and I love the songs so much!! I listened to the songs from the movie on spotify while I read them. lucy gray is such an original character, and I love how the lucy gray poem foreshadows her ending.
sejanus is SO underrated!!! I relate to him WAY too much. he's just a boy who doesn't feel at home in his society, who just wants a friend. during my reread, I felt a lot of emotions towards him. I felt connected to sejanus, as I relate to him so much. his fate is just a sad one, I'll miss him and I hate that coryo did this to the plinths.
the plot is amazing, and I have to say that parts 2 and 3 are my favorites. the end is beautifully haunting. this book is immensely thought-provoking, interesting, and full of corrupt commentary on politics.
I can't help but adore it.

"this world, it's cruel,
with troubles aplenty.
you asked for a reason —
I've got three and twenty
for why I
trust you —
you're pure as the driven snow."

5 stars! I can't stop thinking about that ending!!!

I liked this a lot more than the other Hunger Games books!! The story was so interesting. Coriolanus is such a clever character, his inner monologue one of the smartest and cruelest I have ever read. Lucy Gray was such a fun character, and I dare say I enjoyed her more than Katniss. Lucy Gray just spoke to me in a way Katniss never did.
This book was almost philosophical. Coryo's thoughts are so corrupted that he is the ultimate villain. This book makes you love him, then hate him and leaves you with a wonderful villain. I can't decide if I love Coryo for his character, which is so insanely corrupted but also brilliant, or hate him for the same reasons. Lucy Gray also has more to her than Coryo's POV says. She also is a manipulator, using Coryo as a mentor to survive the Games. We have two main characters that mirror each other. I have never read something so thought-provoking. It has been three days and I can't stop thinking about this book. This book is brilliant.
