Seafort is an infuriating man so racked with guilt, constantly chastising himself for the decisions he takes and feeling he is letting everyone down. Yet you can't help but admire him and root for him all the way. I normally don't like books of a sci fi nature as I tend to lean towards fantasy but this series is excellent and a real page turner. I highly recommend but not a series you can dip into the middle of you need to start at the beginning as this is the third voyage. Begin with Midshipman's Hope.
