This was a genuine surprise. I'd heard that Dark Sun had some more problematic aspects and those were not really present in this book (although I need to read more on the subject to be sure).
A grimdark setting with a good reflection of the oncoming (and currently occurring) climate crisis.
The plot for this one is relatively archetypical but the character work is where the book really shines.
Great action, very excited to read the rest of the series.
