Highly Illogical Behavior by John Corey Whaley
5.0
Unlike many books, we as readers already know at the beginning of the book that Lisa, one of the main characters, is a jerk. After all, she only becomes friends with Solomon, an agoraphobe, because she needs to write a good college scholarship essay. We know, Lisa's friends know, even Lisa herself knows that what she's doing is wrong. Some of the more astute readers may even be able to guess the ending of the book. Yet Highly Illogical Behavior is a perfect example of the old saying, "it's not about the destination; it's about the journey." I laughed at the antics of Lisa, Solomon, and Clark (Lisa's boyfriend); I fangirled (maybe screamed a bit) over all the ships; I cried over the arguably-cliche ending. And that's why I love this book: just like life, it's all about how you get there.
