When Evie's gambling addiction threatens to plunge her idyllic life into chaos, Evie accepts an insane offer; complete a bunch of challenges in a rehab facility in Greece in exchange for a chunk of cash. And so she runs for the money. And as she is pushed to her mental limits in the games, her abandoned husband finds himself framed for her murder and running across the continents with the mother of another missing gambler to uncover the truth.
My favourite read of the month. Squid Games meets Saw with a sprinkle of Da Vinci Code, this was right up my alley. A few times I felt certain arcs were stretching out longer than they needed to, and there are many, many characters who could maybe have been whittled down, but in the end I liked the way the arcs came together.
