Shah of Shahs by Ryszard Kapuściński

4.0

Kapuściński’s account of the decline and fall of the last Shah in Iran goes beyond simple, linear reportage; what we are left with is a sensitive and perceptive meditation on the nature of revolution and the psychological effects of oppression on a nation. I found it compelling and almost poetic, made me want to read more about the Iranian Revolution.
