The Gospel of Loki by Joanne M. Harris

I am a sucker for humor, and with Loki as narrator, you can let your imagination run wild - it will be hard to mess up his character.
I liked the refreshing narrative. As an Odinist, I acknowledge that Odin is the Allfather and the wisest of all the gods, but we forget that that puts everyone else in his shadow. And we also forget that all gods make mistakes - even Odin.
The book does a perfect job of illustrating that, and in combination with the sarcastic and flowery (in more ways than one), it manages to make the stories stick.
Of course, as someone who has taken a lot of time to study the Myths and stories, they were nothing new, and so I can't really talk about what experiencing them is like, because I knew them.
But I imagine for someone going into them for the first time, this book is the perfect gate intro the world of Norse Myths.
I had such a good time reading this book, and it is very hard for me to pinpoint what I loved most.
All I can say is that this book is totally worth a read.
