Kissing the Witch: Old Tales in New Skins by Emma Donoghue

3.0

The first few lines of this book made it clear exactly what kind of book it and then it was...just what I expected. I'm not sure what else I have to say besides that, though the structure is cool and works well. It's basically re-tellings of fairytales, with each tale being the story of a supporting character in the last one. Some of the stories were better than others, but I find I don't really get much out of twists on familiar stories. I always wind up thinking that the original story was still the most interesting the feminist messages stronger without being explicitly laid out.
