I almost gave this 3 stars. I just didn't love this book in the series. Maybe because there wasn't enough Nikolai!! LOL! I am looking forward to King of Scars for that reason.
The plot was okay. A lot of quick jumps from one place to another along the characters' journey, especially towards the end. It felt really rushed in the last 100 pages. I wish Leigh would've just added an additional 100 pages to the book and given more detail. Still, if this series is your first Leigh Bardugo book series, keep reading her books! She is a great author. I could just tell the Shadow and Bone series was early in her writing career. Overall, I was very happy with the conclusion of Alina's journey.
