Tower of Dawn by Sarah J. Maas

5.0

“...he realized that here, amongst the dunes and stars … Here, in the heart of a foreign land … Here, with her, he was home.”

:(( this book has the cutest lines

NESRYN AND SARTAQ. I did not appreciate them the first time I read this but now I do. Yrene and Chaol are of course also great. In this book, we get introduced to Yrene (again, I guess), Sartaq, Hasar, Falkan Ennar, and the Khagan and his other children, who will all play a role in Kingdom of ash!

This book is definitely a relief after Empire of Storms because rather than continuing the plot, it goes back in time to deal with Chaol's healing, both physical and emotional. He has a great arc and is not the same bitter person as before, but rather someone who you will come to respect. He also finally gains confidence in Aelin! All of the members of her court (except maybe Aedion) had to get past her identity as an assassin and the things she did and Chaol finally comes to respect her past. It took him long enough tho *rolls eyes*

Overall: PLEASE READ THIS DONT SKIP STRAIGHT TO KINGDOM OF ASH even if you're not a fan of Chaol!!! If anything read this for nesryn
