A waste of time. Probably the worst book I’ve read this year and I was struggling to get through it. At points, I kept reminding myself that I can't DNF it, that this can’t be the second book I’ve ever DNFed, but oh man was I close to. It started out okay, about 200 pages in it started to go downhill. We got pages and pages of information stuffed down our throats that didn’t even matter. I don’t care about Leah!!! The only person from her backstory that has any lasting impact was Izzie, we don’t need it! So much could have been cut out it’s annoying. For most of the book I felt like I was in a room blindly trying to find my way around, it was hard to understand. The characters don’t make it better, Herbert is a fucked-up guy who (self-proclaims) likes young women to the extent of marrying a 17-year-old then proceeds to fuck her mom when she leaves. He is unlovable and pretty much just a horrible person. I didn’t like any of the other characters, they aren’t even worth talking about.

The ending was really weird, and I had no idea what the hell was even happening in that section. Ugh.
