The Deluge: The Great War, America and the Remaking of the Global Order, 1916-1931 by Adam Tooze

4.0

Almost overwhelming, as someone who knows very little about the time period. I expected it to focus more on the interbellum period, but a large chunk was charting the fascinating political and economic changes over the back-half of World War I. Tooze does a great job emphasizing how much effort and energy went into extending the bloodshed and ensuring compliance by the lower classes. Rest is great too.
