I'm trying to do a better job of sharing my thoughts shortly after reading a book after my longish absence. I just finished Firestarter and I really enjoyed it! I'm not really sure if it's actually because it's good or if it's just that I like the topic and I like Stephen King. It really reminds me of The Institute, almost like it's a precursor or something. I like his fascination with this topic and I feel like it makes it even more fun because of that. I know, online, I've seen a lot about this being a mediocre book - I feel like it's pretty good though. I would read it again. I like it more than Carrie but I think less than the Holly series. I've heard that Fairytale is a little bit difficult because of how he writes his kids. I do kind of wish that he would stick with '70s and '80s stories to make life easier, but I completely understand why he doesn't; I think he just wants to try and stay current. I'm excited to see what else I can read from this time period of his writing, especially if it has to do with psychic gifts.
