The worse day in America will be if all Black women give up on all Black men.

Men don't miss the love they have until she's gone.

The beginning of this book felt pretty slow to me. I think it could have been better if the action picked up sooner, especially since the ending seemed rushed. There’s definitely a plot twist, and overall, the book is pretty sad.

One of my biggest fears is sex trafficking, and I realized I stopped reading when I got to that part in the book. I’m not sure if I did that consciously or unconsciously. Either way, the men in the book were unlikable, while the women were okay.

I’m just trying to figure out why Kingston can’t see that Theodore set him up. I wish I had read this in a book club because the questions at the end would make for great discussions.

Example of one of them:
Does molestation or sexual assault make a person promiscuous?

Great discussion questions.
