What starts as a typical teen drama, suddenly becomes and heartbreaking story about forced marriage and multiple types of abuse, both from the main character's former family and the one she is married into.
The terror I felt when the switch happened can only be a fraction of a fraction of what someone in a situation like that feels, and it still left me paralyzed because of how well it is handled.
A difficult read, to be sure, but one I am happy to have gone through.
