There is a war where both ends try to fight for a future which is supposed to be the perfect one. In the crossfire of those two sides, you find two people writing letters to each other in secret because if they get found out, no one really knows how this would turn the future out to be:
Blue and Red both work for either side, seemingly sure that their side will win. At first.
It was such an interesting novella and the way the relationship between the two characters slowly but surely defines itself from letter to letter, sentence to sentence has been such a delight and I did fear crying at that one scene. I was hovering over my book, sitting criss cross applesauce and biting my lip because I didn’t want to believe that this happened. But it did!
Some of my favourite things within the book is how Red and Blue address each other to the beginning of each letter and even more, how over time both someone noticed more the colour of each other around them, sometimes even seeking it. Also, I must praise the intertextuality and not just regarding letters within this book BUT how you kind of also find small bites of other works. It’s subtle but well placed.
I hope for anyone who will pick this book up, will find just as much joy in it.
