Dear Girls: Intimate Tales, Untold Secrets, & Advice for Living Your Best Life by Ali Wong
4.0
So little bit of mixed feelings here.
Now if you have never watched her comedy, she sounds like a crusty, low-class skanky ho for 2/3 of the book.
You might even think that she is trying too hard.
My question to you then is why are you even picking this up??
I strongly suggest that you watch her two netflix comedies first, watch it with mouth agape as i felt that helped a lot.
Ali wong is in your face, no holds barred witty + crude all mixed into one fine, foxy, brainy lady.
I feel you either love her or hate her. The former read this, the latter run for the hills.
1/3 towards the end of the book, you see a more vulnerable ali.. it is like she started with lots of material almost as if to remind us of her comedy and what she is all about...
Then it gets softer and even, dare I say more real... and you close the book happily..as the last few pages especially when she talks about reconnecting with her mom, her relationship with her husband and vice versa...
And all you want is bliss for the commedian who is sassy yet crude at times, but way way more lovable than amy schumer...any day..
