4.5/5. This book was addicting. I was so looking forward to it after reading Stupid Dirty and it did not disappoint! I love Ford and Tristan as much as I knew I would. Ford is so strong, calm, and a secret softie. Tristan is absolute chaos. I love the two of them together. I love how Tristan just gloms on to Ford immediately and doesn't let go. That's kind of what they both need, otherwise they'd never get it together enough to feel their real feelings. And they're both there for each other in the exact way the other one needs. It's fun to watch them fall in love with each other and it seems like the natural progression. They each have their own trauma and they help each other through it in their own ways. I appreciate their backstories and the hurt/comfort they bring to the story. And Tristan's ability to communicate with Ford in his preferred method is amazing. So is the fact that Cade and Silas are learning ASL, too. I am so excited for the next book!
Notes: 2/5 spice levels, ASL, mute MC, ptsd, childhood trauma, veteran MC, mental health (self harm), scars, grief over parent, gangs, paramedic, mechanic, grumpy/sunshine, chaotic mc, loner mc
