Perfect Prey by Helen Sarah Fields

5.0

Perfect Prey by Helen Fields is the second insallment of the D.I. Callanach series. In this installment, we are met with what seems to be a random brutal killing of an elderly woman until the description of the woman appears on a local wall.

Again, I loved the fact that we were seeing the events from both the killers eyes as well as the detectives. We pick up where we left off in the lives of D.I. Callanach and D.I. Turner, with them ignoring thier feelings for one another. However, Callanach becomes extremely annoying and (to be honest) a little pitiful when an old flame comes into Ava’s life. In attempting to solve this case, Callanach has to enlist the help of two unlikely characters, and they honestly saved the novel for me. Them, as well as the mystery in this one, I was not expecting the twist at the end.
