The Weight of the Stars by K. Ancrum

Oh my gods I believe everyone should read this, it’s just that good.
This book is not soft, and might make you cry, and is all the more beautiful for it.
Tags: hate to love, slow burn, sapphic, mc just adopts the weird kids and it’s wonderful, queer found family, space stuff, near future, alternate timeline, short chapters, more of a lyrical writing style, astronauts and space stuff woo
Content warnings: suicide, bullying, sexual assault, and in general I do want to warn you if you’re anything like me that it might feel like a bit of existential dread? General spacey stuff sometimes sends me spiralling and the way that this is told (while beautiful and I loved it) doesn’t comfort the weird dread I feel when thinking about the vast emptiness of space
Rep: Black Butch queer (unlabelled with a preference towards girls) main character, biracial sapphic (unspecified) love interest, selective mute main side character, teenage single father, gay man side character, Sikh main side character, general queer cast, f/m/m parents to a main side character
