The Dispossessed by Ursula K. Le Guin

5.0

I honestly don't know how to organize and summarize my thoughts about this book. There's just so much to unpack. All I can say for now is that it is so so so good. I feel like it's a book you will grow to love as you read it again and again.

The Dispossessed is a very intimate and engaging examination of anarchy & capitalism and how humans, being all too humans, would respond to existing in such societies. It didn't read like a discussion on which society was a better world to live in but a brilliantly written exploration of how consumerism, freedom, socialism, famine, violence, power, possessions, and ideas would affect the human condition.

For those who have never read a Le Guin, I hope you do so soon. ❤
