The Naive and Sentimental Lover by John le Carré
Did not finish book. Stopped at 31%.
I had heard great things about John le Carrie, and maybe he is great for spy novels. But this story dragged. None of the characters were interesting, with the prime culprit being Aldo. Le carre’s fluid storytelling method did not combine well with the obscene amount of details, and overall the story felt incredibly slow and lacking direction. He also tells you how characters feel, instead of letting you determine how the are doing. The descriptions of women are also icky.
