All The Blood We Share by Camilla Bruce

5.0

“We take care of our own, and the rest can fend for themselves.”

All the Blood We Share follows Kate Bender, Elvira, and Hanson in each of their points of view.
Kate is the daughter of Elvira. She is a spiritualist and has blood on her hands.
Then we have Elvira who is a healer through herbs and other old medicinal tricks, she also has blood on her hands but for a different reason.
Lastly, we have Hanson who is the neighbor boy who is friends with the Benders and works at the trading post.

Kate, John, Elvira, and William are new to Cherryvale as they look to start over after having had to flee Pennsylvania after rumors spread about them making it so they can't make a living. We very quickly learn that it was more than just rumors that made them flee and that the entire family has more than just one secret. They eventually start doing exactly what made them have to flee Pennsylvania but this time they are more careful and take precautions.

Or at least that's what Kate tells her family in order to get them to go along with her plans to earn money. From being a spiritualist to harming the men traveling alone Kate makes her mark and gets everyone around her involved in one way or another.

Overall this book is dark but I absolutely loved it and couldn't read it fast enough! I had to know what Kate and her family were going to do next and if they were ever going to get caught. Kate is a force to be reckoned with and isn't willing to take no for an answer and isn't afraid to do things in order to make sure she gets her way. This is true when she's dealing with her family, as well as when she is dealing with the townspeople and creating a career for herself as a spiritualist. Add on to this the family's dark secret, unrequited love, and family members slowly losing their minds it is a recipe for disaster. A disaster that you are constantly waiting to see unfold throughout the entire book because of all the risks they are taking.
