The Thief Taker by C.S. Quinn
3.0
Not bad, fiction to be taken with a piece of salt. A lot of suspension of belief and inaccuracies with fact of the City at that time. For historical fiction set in known places, I would expect the places to be accurate to the period even if the events have lots of creative freedom. A review below gives a better example of all the humourous inaccuracies (example: a journey that takes hours on foot taking days by horse)
I cant suspend my belief when someone is getting boiled then moments later running down a tunnel and running after a cart...
I might read the next book to see if they have improved. I expected more.
2.5/5, rounded to 3.
