Even though I am not a re-read lover, indeed I get bored easily and generally struggle with finishing a book I have already read, I really enjoyed experiencing this book a second time, two years later. In fact, since the last season of the TV show has been postponed to summer 2025, I decided to prepare for it by re-reading the whole trilogy. So far I have finished just the first book and I got to admit that I didn't remember many of the things that happened and therefore read it quite quickly and pleasantly. Nevertheless, I finally understood that the problem, in my opinion, have never been the Fisher boys, but Belly. It's really hard for me to stand her, and her actions can't be justified by her being a teen, because we are literally the same age and I would never dream of act as she did in some situations. Therefore, my rating got a little lower than it originally was, because the experience of reading a book, once you've started disliking the point of view you're reading from, is less enjoyable. Lastly, this is probably one of the very few cases in which I believe I preferred the adaptation to the original novel, at least as far as the first season goes.
