Okay why are there so many negative reviews. This is probably one of my favourite contemporary books now. It is one of them books that I know will stay with me forever.

I felt like this books was a life lesson, I'm the same age as Laurel and I can assure you my freshman year went nothing like hers, but I feel like every 14/15 year old girl should read this book. I think I also connected to Laurel in a way, because I love Nirvana, I grew up with my Dad playing The Doors music, I've have seen River Phoenix's films and I am sure everyone has seen a Judy Garland and I love Amy Winehouse. So I guess what I'm trying to say in a roundabout way is that the people Laurel looked up to or her sister looked up to for whatever reason, I do too. Ironically I love poetry too.

I felt like Laurel was someone I'd want to be best friends with. This book made me feel so many emotions (I cried an awful lot) too. When I had just started the book, I was about page 30 ish I knew something was off

I had a feeling that Sky knew May because he went to the same school as her and I knew he was involved with her somehow. My tendency to assume the worst meant I thought he was her boyfriend oops, but I'm glad he wasn't

I liked Laurel and Sky's relationship, the main point of the story wasn't about their first love and it didn't feel like that either. Their love felt like a need for each other. The long time they weren't together I felt like I was grieving with Laurel because it was kind of painful and sad to read in a good way. And when Sky explained

why he ended it with her - seeing her act like May and being with the other girl I was a bit of a wreck. Especially when he said that Laurel had nice friends to look out for her, but he didn't so his coping mechanism was slutty girls.

I liked that - it made me cry.

I don't think much of what I have said about this book has made much sense because I still have too many emotions about this book, but I really liked Ava Dellaira's writing because I felt like I wasn't forced to feel sympathy for any of the characters - I dunno if this is just me, but that is one of the reasons why I really loved this book. I honestly feel like if you haven't read this book you need to because it will change your outlook on life. And if you have read it and rated it anything less than 4 stars I don't think we were reading the same book, like I literally do not understand, please explain to me what is wrong with this book and why you didn't like it!
