Simply fantastic. A another sequel from Sanderson that raises the stakes of the entire narrative, as well as fleshing out side characters in unexpected and fascinating ways. From the very beginning of this one, I felt the urgency, the character’s very real and internal struggles, as well as the scale of story beginning to expand. Vin and Elend are fantastic, the true definition of a power couple. However, to my surprise, the characters I found myself being drawn most towards in this book were Breeze and Sazed. Both men received such incredible depth and exploration of character here, it’s something to be commended. Especially given that this is a trilogy and Sanderson doesn’t have as much time or space to work with characters as he would in a larger series like The Stormlight Archive. If every subsequent Mistborn book after this (Specifically after THOA) is just as good, I’ll be ready to call Sanderson one of my favorite authors, I think.
