I'm happy we finally got to see Brooklyn & Matt back together. Seeing them have important conversations let me root for them again. I do have mixed feelings about the series overall, but this book did what it needed to do. I wish that they weren't so quick to move on from Miller. In less than a month Brooklyn was ready to move on and be back with Matt. While Matt was hot and cold. He asked questions but just took the answers as it was and thought everything was fine. The resolution between them came much quicker than I thought.

Some of the side characters are too prevalent in the storyline now, and I'm not a huge fan of all of it. AKA Nigel and Tanner, but especially Nigel. I do not understand why these two characters were brought so heavily into this series when they have their own series (The Society #StalkerProblems)!! They ruin a lot of moments, and I wish they were never written in so heavily. Side character for being friends, fine. But they have a lot of time on the page (especially Nigel) and it makes me roll my eyes and skim it all tbh. The content about Nigel was extremely unnecessary and gross with how he had perverted vibes. Especially with a child in the book? A solid no for me.

On the other hand, I loved seeing Brooklyn with the original untouchables and meeting their wives. The moments of old friends getting back together made me really happy to see them! All the joking and playfulness between Matt and the guys was also a lot of fun. I do wish that they got more time on the page though.

I loved seeing Matt interact and meet Jacob, but some of the scenes made me uncomfortable with how she writes. I work with kids, so seeing how Jacob is written doesn't sit well with me. Brooklyn was an extremely cautious parent at first (understandably), but in this book it seems like she just leaves Jacob with strangers for various amounts of time.

Not a big fan of the ending and cliffhanger, because I feel like there has already been so much conflict in this series. Bringing in a new villain is unnecessary in my opinion, but I am excited that the next book is the last book. The first 3 books had me in so deep, but now I'm more excited for the series to be complete and over with the direction that it is going.
