My Soul to Take by Yrsa Sigurðardóttir
3.0
Trigger warnings: murder, animal death, blood, gore, death of a child (in the past), rape, mentions of incest, mentions of Nazism.
Meh. I've loved this author's work in the past, but this one just felt like it dragged on f.o.r.e.v.e.r. The initial mystery was compelling, but it took so long to actually get around to the point that by the time we finally DID get there, I'd more or less lost interest in the investigation and I didn't particularly care who the murderer was.
So sadly, this one was a bit of a flop for me. (But it's entirely possible that a lot of that has to do with, you know, *gestures at entire planet* and the fact that my brain can't seem to handle anything serious at the moment...)
