Dahl was my favorite novelist when I was a kid, and I still really enjoy his stories. The more I read about him as a person, the more impressed I am with the life he lived. Fighter pilot, businessman, spy... There are some unfortunate aspects of the times of Dahl’s life in this book (for example, colonialism, racism, etc.), and the way Dahl talks about them is not appropriate for the way think and talk about these issues today.
