The Black Guy Dies First: Black Horror Cinema from Fodder to Oscar by Robin R. Means Coleman, Mark H. Harris

funny informative lighthearted reflective medium-paced

4.25

very enjoyable non fiction read about the change in Black rep in horror media.

I found this book very funny and informative. I'm not a huge horror fan but my mom is and I grew up watching various forms of horror media (with my hands over my eyes).

I learned a lot of film history, which might seem introductory to some. I enjoyed the little side plots, lists  and quests. It added to the casual approach of the book.

This book was also absolutely hilarious. That on top of the fact that it wasn't too wordy, made me devour this book.

Highly recommend.
