Now, I read the synopsis. I did. But I wasn’t prepared for the several twists and turns that occurred.

This story follows two friends, Nel and Sula from meeting as children and into adulthood. The biggest thing in this story, for me anyway, was how each girl seemed to have been a product of the families that raised them.

Some would say Nel had a better upbringing than Sula but each family had its flaws when it came to them making decisions as a result.

Though there was some betrayal within the story, the friendship was what it was. This story showed how secrets never die, and people never let you live down your mistakes.

I liked all of the characters, Eva with her one leg and her housing others - the Dewey’s and even Tar Baby. But that Ajax - the stole to prove his admiration to Sula 🤣

But that Sula, she was something else - the entire story..
