2.5 stars. I was expecting a novel that could appeal to adults and children alike, as Little Women and Little Men can, but this is definitely juvenile literature. The moralizing and sentimentality got rather boring. I wonder how I would have reacted as a young girl reading it. But as an adult, it's not something I'd come back to.
