What I Liked:
- I ALWAYS say that a good book makes me cry - this must be the BEST book because I sobbed through the last 150 pages or so. Like, couldn't breathe, couldn't see the pages, sobbed. I'm not sure I'm going to be able to pick up another book anytime soon after this one.
- I would literally die for Syrinx. That is all.
- This book did such a good job covering HARD topics like drug abuse, suicide, depression, and grief. Bryce's grief over her friends was SO real throughout the entire book.
- I did not expect the plot twist!
I could not BELIEVE that the Horn was IN Bryce's tattoo. Like what the heck!!! Nor could I believe Micah was the bad guy - after all he claimed he was doing for Hunt!!) - I actually really liked the romance arc in this.
I loved that the attraction between Hunt and Bryce was always THERE, but it wasn't the main focus of the book - These characters were all so wonderful. I always struggle keeping SJM's characters straight, but the important ones in this book were so fleshed out.
What I Didn't Like/Wanted More Of:
- The beginning was SLOW.
- I didn't connect as much to the world in this one as I have in other SJM books, but maybe that'll come with the sequel.
- I wanted more information about Sahar. She was SUCH an important part of Hunt's life but I feel like her story was glossed over? Prequel, maybe?
Graphic: Death, Drug abuse, Drug use, Suicidal thoughts, Grief, and Murder
