Eva Evergreen and the Cursed Witch by Julie Abe
5.0
The magical adventure continues in this sequel to Eva Evergreen, Semi-Magical Witch. In Eva Evergreen and the Cursed Witch, the story picks off immediately where the the first book ended when Eva and her mom discover a secret that could change the fate of the realm. (No spoilers for the first book here but I highly recommend reading this delightful middle grade series!)
Just like the the first book, readers will love following Eva Evergreen as she continues to do her best to help her friends, her family, and the realm. With her pinch of magic and the belief in the impossible possibilities, Eva is a sweet, loyal and courageous young heroine that readers cannot help but adore and root her. This sequel does take a slightly darker turn than the first book (for a middle grade book) as the Culling gets worse, more people are disappearing and Eva’s loved ones are at greater risk. I was truly reading at a frenzied pace as I wanted to find out the secrets and mystery behind the Culling. Fans of the first Eva Evergreen will not be disappointed by this sequel which is filled with just as much of magic, love, and the impossible possibilities.
