Zero K by Don DeLillo
3.5
Don DeLillo writes thought-provoking and existential books. I appreciate his writing and the philosophical underpinnings but found this a lot less impactful as an audiobook than I likely would have if I had read the physical copy. I also felt there was less nuance than I found in White Noise and the literary technique of repetition for effect was tiring and overused. The writing style is not well-suited to narration either since there are often fragmented sentences. All in all I’m glad to have checked this one out and it certainly provokes a lot of thought about mortality and the interaction between class and control over longevity/the possibility of immortality.
