Ulysses by James Joyce

Did not finish book.
I chose this book as an audiobook because I wanted a good book to listen to while I did chores and such. But this was the wrong book for that, in a couple ways I think. I don't think this makes a good audiobook. I've listened to about 10% of it, and while Joyce's lyricism and brilliance with language play are obvious, I can't tell what's happening from one paragraph to the next. I can't hear all his weird punctuation, and I can't follow all his inference.

Also, I had to concentrate so hard to catch the material being read to me, I kept stopping my chores to listen to the book. One time, my shower water ran cold. So, it kind of defeated its purpose.

I'm hoping to try this one again with my eyeballs, but I've tried Joyce before with little pleasure, and I don't see this one landing high on my TBR list.
