Outback by Patricia Wolf

4.0

Lucas Walker is an AFP officer visiting his dying grandmother in the Queensland outback town of Caloodie. While there, two backpackers go missing and his boss asks him to keep an eye on the investigation. No reasonable explanation is given for this request. One of the missing backpackers' sister is a German police officer and she flies to Australia to help find her sister. Teaming up with Lucas they try to find backpackers but uncover a much bigger mystery.

This isn't too bad a read but I did find a few inconsistencies in the book, but perhaps these are due to a lack of clarity in the writing. The guilty is easily confused with someone who has nothing to do with the crime.
