A Calling for Charlie Barnes by Joshua Ferris

5.0

This was… dare I say… brilliant? This book reminded me why I’ve been claiming Joshua Ferris as a favorite author since college. Top level, this is funny and has a lot of heart. The writing (at a sentence level) is insane - just crazy good. And, most importantly, this does what Ferris does best - plays with voice and perspective in a truly unique way. Lastly, it’s study of truth and the subtle social commentary woven through that was, well, brilliant.
