The Darkest Seduction by Gena Showalter

5.0

I refuse to lie about this one, but I expected Paris to be so different than he was. I expected different sex for starters. I understand all his demon needs is for him to ejaculate, and it doesn't care who, or what (although there's no mentions of anything other than human bodies - besides the Gargoyles trying to hump him with their stony bodies) as long as he gets his release. In reality, Paris isn't some sex fiend - besides his constant dirty talking and his demons 'chocolate and champagne' scent 'Sex' emits whenever he wants some - and only wishes to have a monogamist relationship, something his demon will not let him do, until Sienna Blackstone.

So Sienna is dead, but her soul has been bonded by Cronus, to Aeron's demon of Wrath. No one can see her, and she's locked in a castle in some mystical land, basically waiting for her prince to come and rescue her. That is, until Paris makes it his mission to find her, and is told how to see and feel the dead. To tattoo their ashes into yourself (fingertips, tongue, eyes - basically wherever he wants to feel her) and hey presto! He can now see Sienna!

From then on, he makes it his mission to then teach her how to protect herself for when he leaves her after he helps her escape her eternal prison, and meanwhile, she's on a mission to save her sister, believing the ever-the-asshole Cronus and looking gullible as shit in the process. But, of course she is new to this, so I won't judge her TOO harshly on her stupidity of trusting that asshat who practically entrapped her with a demon for the rest of her life.

Long story short, Ashlyn goes into labour when Galen steals her in order to get back Legion, and has her beautiful little demon babies with Williams (he's becoming very damn useful lately) help. We meet Hades (William and Lucifer's father), Fox (Distrust) and Viola (Narcissism). Kane is still in hell, struggling against minions of his demon, Disaster - who we find had such a jealous streak, he killed all his male minions so he had hundreds of females to himself- who want his 'baby juice' to help reproduce. In our moments with Kane, we see a soul who is neglected due to his demon. Unable to be in a room without things breaking and being a liability to the lords and their women, he is basically shunned, not allowed to fight with his warrior brothers, or sent when its too dangerous for them, to do on his own. His story is next, so I'll leave his story there, and continue on.

Torin gets the All-Key from Cronus, and as Cronus shows Sienna, one of his three futures comes true. Future one, his beheading. Future two, Galen kills Paris. Future three, Galen and Sienna stand before Cronus with his Lords behind him.

This story broke my heart a few times. Paris is so trusting. So in love with a girl he barely knows. He's come so far to find her. And in the end, she's the best thing for the Lords. I felt so bad when the lords held that "intervention" for Paris, even when they knew she was real.... It was selfish of them to try push him as far as they did. Anyway. Enough spoilers, It was good. Well worth the read. It only took me so long due to read it due to being holidays, or I would have consumed it whole!
