I know it’s YA and a bit different than other Star Wars book, but that’s a must read. To understand Padmé and her handmaidens/decoys/bodyguards better.

I absolutely loved this book. I know Queen’s Shadow came out first, but I prefer to read them in chronological order so I started with Queen’s Peril and I’m not regretting it. Seeing Padmé and the girls settle into the role of Amidala, how their relationship evolved as trouble arose… it’s one of those little documented sections of Star award lore that I am glad to get more of.

And that mirror chapter with Leia at the end!!! Amazing! No notes! 💯

Extra points of the low key sapphic rep and hint of a QPR (it’s a QPR in my head anyways). Star Wars official stuff cruelly lacks queer rep*, so it’s nice to see it every once in a while.

*Not counting the Jedi order because I’m 99% that was founded by aroace folks, and that Mace Windu is aroace himself.
