The Centre by Ayesha Manazir Siddiqi

This book was rather interesting, but also horrible. But I don’t know what part is more horrible and I can’t explain that thinking without giving away HUGE plot points.

I loved the voice. I hated the MC and I feel like you are supposed to hate Anisa. She’s incredibly full of herself and nonchalantly shakes off her own privilege.

There are these moments she talks about how in her culture everyone has servants and just shrugged it off as that’s normal, but criticizes every one else for the same privileges she grew up with.

I enjoyed this book, especially after listening to the author’s q&a at the end of the audiobook. It’s dark and thrilling and fun.
