“Nothing in these woods could be more dreadful, more terrifying, than the selfish cruelty of ordinary people.”
You know that feeling of watching an 80s horror movie set entirely in Halloween night, and it’s silly and scary, but somehow comforting?
That’s this book. And I had a blast.
This was the perfect read to start off spooky season for me.
There’s a plethora of POVs, a haunted woods attraction, creepy children, petty neighborhood drama and scandals, beautiful writing, and lesbians.
It has everything
4.5/5 stars
