I’m really confused by the reviews left on this book. At 811 pages it’s a big guy but I felt it was pretty fast paced. The multiple POVs and narratives made sure the plot was always advancing forward. You also impossibly loved and hated  everyone and got to enjoy them being layered. The plot twist and cliffhanger at the end were cruel! I can’t believe I have to wait to the next book to get a conclusion.

The book felt like all the fun of the Witcher with the world building and complexity of lord of the rings. I liked that the author trusted the audience with limited scene and character descriptions in favor of spending more time on character and plot development.
