I was not expecting to enjoy this book as much as I did. The authors story held my intrest from page one all the way to the end. It describes the story of how she went from a mountain girl who until seventeen didn't know basic information that most of us take for granted all the way to all the way up to an independant woman studying at harvard. She describes her stuggles, confusion, denial and hurt that she experienced. She describes the physical abuse she suffered and the mental abuse which stayed with her long after any physical injuries were healed. Its a surprisingly interesting story and a rare chance to see the world through eyes entirely different than my own.
