The Time of My Life by Lisa Niemi Swayze, Patrick Swayze
5.0
What I love most about autobiographies is that I almost always grow a HUGE fondness for the person writing about their life -- and it really helps if I love the work they put out. When I think of Patrick Sawyze I immediately remember the first time I watched both Ghost and Dirty Dancing. Those two movies aren't quite easy to forget. I know I was young and didn't understand them at the time, but I clearly remember watching them with my mom and as I've grown up now they hold a dear place in my heart.
This book tells of Patrick's life from high school football, dancing, meeting the love of his life, gymnastics, acting, horse-showing, singing, accidents, depression, drinking, tragedies, and eventually of his experience going through pancreatic cancer. It's a wonderful book/life. I started reading thinking it would be interesting to see how he lived his life and I came out having a huge respect for the man. I gave it five stars like most autobiographies because it's just one of those books you could never forget.
