The back and forth between 1st and 3rd person was incredibly jarring and only made worse by the very short chapters.  However, the main reason I decided to stop reading this was just that I didn’t like where this was going.  I don’t think it’s a good sign when you don’t want your protagonist to go one the journey that is the point of the narrative.
