It's pretty impressive to adapt a play written by a man who died 1,600+ years ago and come off as the more sexist storytelling. Arch-Conspirator is a boring and tired dystopia hinging on women-as-wombs, vague climate disasters, and autocracy. Where Antigone plots the course of a decisive, stubborn girl of action, Roth systematically strips away her actions and words before handing them off to men. Nothing could better capture the empty sisterhood-will-save-us of these themes than
launching twin sisters away from the Earth (also a womb) and into space to die.
