This book is so heartwrenching and difficult to get through, but a fantastic read nonetheless.
I cannot believe how many times this book made me angry at the adults in these lives who are supposed to be taking care of these kids, but whether it is the casual or overt racism from teachers or the abuse from a parent, it harms these kids in so many ways. Luckily, many of these individuals get what is coming to them, but not without causing immense harm to those around them.
The ending is not tied up in a neat bow though it is quite satisfying.
This book is a definite reread.
