This book contains two novels but one story. It's full of Australian political intrigue and the international affairs it is set against, it's allies and friends. However, it is lacking a bit of coherence for me and misses the mark. Also it's just the recent history of Australian politics where the names have been changed to protect the not so innocent.

The stories are part of the Harry Dunkley series but at times I was wondering where Harry was. He drifted in and out of the story it seemed.

It lacking that essence needed to captivate me.
